BaseHubs is an application and service that provides a gated platform for groups of people with shared interests. BaseHubs is used to find products, services, offers, and events in a group’s surrounding community.

When you use BaseHubs, you’ll share certain information with us. This privacy policy explains what information we collect from you, how we use it, and who we share it with.

Information we collect

BaseHubs collects information that you provide directly to us. For example, to use our application, you will need to set up an account. When you do, we need to collect details from you, such as your name, email address, phone number, username, age, gender, and military status. We may also ask you to set preferences, such as your favorite business categories. If you opt-in to sending us your location, we may also collect your location information. We may also allow you to upload a photo to your account and provide information about yourself.

When you download our application, we collect information about your device. For example, we may collect information about your device’s hardware or software (such as your mobile device identifier, operating system, device make and model), and IP address.

When you interact with our service, we may collect information about your activity, such as access times, pages viewed, content created, favorites (e.g. local business that you like), content that you choose to follow, and reviews submitted. If you contact us for support, we will collect information about that support interaction.

We also may, from time to time, receive information about you from other sources and combine that information with the information we collect through BaseHubs. For example, BaseHubs uses the ID.me authentication service. When you use your ID.me account to log into BaseHubs, you authorize ID.me to verify your identity with BaseHubs.

How we use information

BaseHubs uses information about you to enable your access to and use of the BaseHubs services and to make BaseHubs more personal and relevant to you. For example, we use your information to verify your identity when you log into our service. We may use your location to show you businesses in your area or businesses that are recommended by people in your area. We may also recommend businesses that are more like those you have chosen to recommend through our services or that we think may be of interest to you based on your interactions with our service.

We also use your information to maintain our services, to continuously develop new features and functionality, and to enhance the safety and security of our application, services, and overall platform. We want to maintain a trusted environment on BaseHubs and we may use your information to detect and better prevent spam, abuse, or other harmful conduct. We may also use your information to comply with our legal obligations.

We may also use your information to get in touch with you, such as sending you alerts or email messages about new features or functionality.

How we share information

We may share information about you with other users of BaseHubs, such as to make your profile name and photo available to others in your community or if you choose to publish a recommendation about a business. We may also share information about you with BaseHubs service providers who need to access your information to provide services to us. For example, if BaseHubs has hired a company to help us provide customer service and support, that company may need certain information in order to provide service and support. We may also disclose information as part of a corporate transaction, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Finally, we may need to share your information to comply with our obligations under the law or to respond to valid legal process, including from law enforcement or other government agencies.

Children

BaseHubs is a service for people 13 years of age and older. Our application and services are not intended for, and we do not direct them to, anyone under 13.

Your choices

You may update, correct or delete account profile information at any time by logging into your account. If you would like to close your account, please use the options available to you in your account settings. However, please note that information you chose to make public within the BaseHubs service may continue to remain on our services, even after you have closed your account.

Revisions to this privacy policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our application and services evolve. When we do, we’ll let you know, either by changing the date at the top of this Privacy Policy or we may provide additional notice, like a notice in the BaseHubs application.
