Today is National PTSD Awareness Day, a day dedicated to shedding light on post-traumatic stress disorder, which disproportionately affects our Veterans and service members at a higher rate than civilians. PTSD is 3 times more likely to occur in service members who have deployed, than those who have not. Regardless of the circumstances, those battling post-traumatic stress disorder should know they are not alone, and there are many resources out there to help them get the treatment they need.

The VA National Center for PTSD- explore resources offered directly through the VA for post-traumatic stress disorder: https://www.ptsd.va.gov/index.asp

AboutFace- Learn about PTSD, treatment options, and hear personal stories from Veterans who have experienced it themselves: https://www.ptsd.va.gov/apps/aboutface/

Veterans Crisis Line- 24/7, confidential crisis support for Veterans and their families (you do not have to be enrolled in VA benefits or health care to use this service): Dial 988 then press 1, OR send a text to 838255. More information can be found here: https://www.veteranscrisisline.net/
